Megan Beckle

Hello! My name is Megan Beckle and I have been pet sitting for many years. I chose to pet sit because I love to interact with all types of animals as well as meet new people and this offers the best of both worlds. I am very excited to help Sara expand Spoiled Rotten Pet Sitting to the Puyallup area.
      Animals have always been a big part of my life. I was very active in a 4-H club as well as the local chapter of FFA while growing up in Northern California. We always had a large variety of pets, from reptiles and ferrets to cats and dogs. I have owned and ridden Arabians since I was nine. Living with horses exposed me to a lot of hard, dirty work as well as dealing with medical issues day and night when one of the horses got sick or injured. I also raised a seeing eye dog for Guide Dogs for the Blind, located in San Rafael, CA., when I was a teenager. I learned a lot about animal behavior during the weekly classes my seeing eye puppy, Glacier, and I attended. It was one of most rewarding experiences I have ever had. It was also one of the most difficult when I gave Glacier back to the school so she could finish her training and become a guide. I hope to raise another puppy for the same school someday. Before I moved to Washington, I was a volunteer at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in San Jose, Ca. While there, I cared for many types of birds as well as as raccoons, opossums, ect. I had the unique opportunity to bottle-feed a litter of squirrels in my home and then release them when they were old enough. On a similar note, I have also bottle-raised many orphan kittens over the years as well as trapped and spayed/neutered the feral cats in the neighborhoods I have lived.
      Currently my family and I share our home with two cats, Kamillah and Jack, a german shepherd mix, Delilah, and a European fire salamander named Roxie. My pets are members of my family and are treated as such. I consider myself to be a devoted pet owner and take my responsibilities seriously. Both Kamillah and Roxie have been with me for eleven years and have traveled with us through many moves. I will treat your furry family members with the same love and attention that mine receive. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and helping you both enjoy the time you spend away. Thank you!
