Animals have always been a significant part of my life and I always knew that I wanted to work with animals. I worked my way through college training horses and teaching riding lessons. Shortly after graduating, I realized that my degree was not in line with my passion and then stumbled in to a veterinary assistant job in my home state of Kentucky. I knew I had finally found the perfect job that combined my love of animals, my love of science and an opportunity to continue learning for the rest of my life. I left Kentucky to pursue a degree in veterinary technology and I continue to work in the field today. I began pet sitting after seeing so many pets brought into the hospital by boarding kennel employees with stress related illness during their owners’ absence. I realized that there was a need for in home pet care for these high anxiety pets, and this need was not being met. I continue to enjoy my work both in the hospital and in a pet sitting capacity. I love having the opportunity to provide high quality care to animals of all species, and I get to meet many interesting people and pets in the process!
